Tournament Baseball Update

Last night URA’s 10U Navy squad took on Warrington in the State Semi-Final game. Warrington stepped on to the field carrying with them an impressive 50+ game win streak. Our boys were undaunted and sent a message by not only winning the game snapping the huge win streak, but they shut them out 4-0 to advance to the State Championship Game tonight vs. Springfield in Warrington, PA!

If you are interested in coming out and supporting the boys in their quest for the PA State Title, which would be a first ever for URA…

Directions to Barness Fields are below. (About 45 mins with no traffic)

· From PA Turnpike and Route 611 - Willow Grove Exit

· 611 North to Bristol Road

· Left on Bristol Road

· Fields approx. 1 mile on left

Other Tourney Team News

For the first time in URA history, all 5 age groups advanced beyond District play and qualified for State Tourney play!

URA is also proud of 2 more District Championships, brought home by the 8U and 9U teams. Great job to all and best of luck to those continuing the quest for the State Championship and beyond…!

· 8U – District 9 Champions! Eliminated in State Tournament

· 9U – District 9 Champions! State tourney starts 7/23 at Central Perkiomen

· 10U – In the State Championship Game tonight vs. Springfield!

· 11U 50/70 – Qualified for State Tournament beginning 7/23 @ Towamencin

· 12U 50/70 – Qualified for State Play, eliminated in tournament

The 8's Are District 9 Champions! Congratulations to the Unionville 8YO Tourney Team who downed BYC 15-4 tonight to take the District Championship! The boys will now head to the State Championship Tournament representing Unionville and District 9 as the Champion! Team Members: Jake Abrams, Ryan Batog, Matt Cutrona, Jason Granato, Toby Gregory, Jason Juul, Richie Kline, Kyle Lyons, Jason Roux, Connor Schilling, Logan Shanahan, Thomas Smiddy, and Michael Walter-Dillon. Team Manager is Don Lyons, Coaches are Rich Kline and Rich Roux Great work guys!

Field Hockey

Fall 2010 Field Hockey Registration is NOW OPEN!

The URA Field Hockey Program is an instructional level program open to girls entering 1st through 6th grades in the Fall who would like to learn/play hockey.

The season runs from September through the end of October.

The girls are divided into 3 divisions:

-1st and 2nd grade: Generally practice once per week with games on Saturdays

-3rd and 4th grade: Generally practice once or twice a week with games on Saturdays

-5th and 6th grade: Generally practice twice a week with games on Saturdays

For players in 1st through 4th grades, games will take place at the URA baseball fields. They play 6 v. 6 on a half sized field with no goalie.

Players in the 5th/6th division play games at Patton Middle School on a standard field 11 v. 11 with goalie.

All age groups will also have some away games at local fields (Travel radius is limited).

URA provides shirts, goalie equipment and balls.

All girls must provide sticks, shin guards and mouth guards. Both shin guards and mouth guards are mandatory!

Volunteers are needed for coaching, age group commissioners and scheduling.

Cost - $100 per player
